The system

Warranty and certificates: what each piece of paper proves.

A logo on a brochure proves nothing. Here are the checks the system has passed, who carried them out, under which number, and what they do not say.

The checks, one by one

The table reproduces the one from the manufacturer, IREWA. The last column is ours: what the document establishes, and nothing more.

Check Who carried it out Reference What it establishes
Type examination of the heating film TÜV NORD CERT No. 44 780 24002601, from 19 August 2024 to 18 August 2029 the electrical safety of this model, to standard EN 60335-1
CE conformity, “Low Voltage” Directive 2014/35/EU TÜV NORD CERT No. 44 790 24002601 a third-party body attests conformity with this directive; the CE marking itself is a declaration by the manufacturer
Product passport Sentinel Holding Institut 15466-10-1000, until 11 August 2027 the product is tested for pollutants, and the institute recommends it; for the German QNG label, it classes it as “no bearing on the assessment”
Emissions into indoor air eco-INSTITUT report 60166-A001-L, 2025 the emissions from the materials were measured in a laboratory
Electromagnetic fields IGEF certificate the fields emitted by the film were measured
Patent European Patent Office granted in 2021 the build-up is protected; a patent says nothing about performance

What we checked ourselves

On 9 October 2026, we opened the product’s entry in the database of the Sentinel Holding Institut, a third-party institute that lists construction products tested for pollutants. It classes the system among the products tested for pollutants, and offers for download the product passport, the data sheets for the film, the insulating layer and the reflective layer, and the IGEF certificate.

The TÜV NORD CERT certificate can be checked by its number in the body’s public database: both addresses are in the sources, at the bottom of the page. This number is the one the manufacturer publishes: we have not checked it ourselves in that database.

What these documents do not prove

  • A type examination covers safety, not consumption. For consumption, there are only the manufacturer’s readings: they are on the measured consumption page, with their limits.
  • A product passport covers the materials, not comfort or the bill.
  • No certificate replaces fitting done properly. That is the role of the thermal camera check at the end of the job, and of the electrical inspection by an electrician.

The warranty

  • 20 years, according to the manufacturer, on the system. Its page for specifiers spells it out: a written warranty, on the materials. Ask us for its terms before you sign: it is the terms that say what is covered, and what is not.
  • The floor covering, for its part, has its own manufacturer’s warranty.
  • What the manufacturer states in addition: a system designed for at least 50 years; no complaint about the heating film since 2012; a single part that gets replaced, the thermostat.

The three statements in this last point are not written commitments: we report them as such.

Who the manufacturer is, who fits

The manufacturer is IREWA, the brand of Carbon Heizsysteme GmbH, a company based in Rosenheim, Bavaria. Carbosol is its official partner for France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands: we design, supply and fit.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions on this subject.

How long is the system under warranty?

20 years, according to the manufacturer, which states a written warranty on the materials. Ask us for its terms before you sign: it is the terms that say what is covered.

Who checked the electrical safety?

According to the manufacturer, TÜV NORD CERT, a German certification body: type examination of the heating film to standard EN 60335-1, the one for household electrical appliances. It publishes the certificate number, 44 780 24002601, valid until 18 August 2029; this number can be checked in the body's public database.

Does the system emit pollutants into the air of the home?

It has been tested on this point: the Sentinel Holding Institut lists it in its database as a product tested for pollutants, and the manufacturer cites a 2025 test report from eco-INSTITUT.

How long does it last?

The manufacturer says it is designed for at least 50 years, and has been in service since 2012. Those are its statements; the warranty it states is 20 years.

Is the system patented?

According to the manufacturer, the build-up is under a European patent, granted in 2021, and the reflective layer under a utility model. It provides the numbers on request.
